Open star cluster M29

UA 16-inch image of Messier 29

The bright but very sparse star cluster Messier 29 in Cygnus, shown in an R-band CCD image obtained with the UA 16-inch telescope. The field of view shown is 17 arcminutes wide. This cluster reminds me of a tiny version of Pegasus, or maybe the little asterism that points to the double quasar 0957+561.
