The bright but very sparse star cluster Messier 26 in Scutum, shown in an R-band CCD image obtained with the UA 16-inch telescope. The field of view shown is 20 by 30 arcminutes in extent. This is a big cluster - it spreads off the northern edge of this view.
M25 is seen in the rich Milky Ray region of the Scutum star cloud, about 3 degrees from the even more spectacular cluster M11.
