Lab Exercise 7 An Incident On the Sun

The Sunny July of 2002  


Read  Laboratory Exercise 7 section 7.4b and answer questions 26-29.


Study the following satellite image of the Earth's Auroral Oval. When a CME has arrived on Earth, a geomagnetic storm gets triggered and the auroral oval will be largest. Use this information to find out how long it took for the CME to travel towards the Earth from the sun.
