The globular star cluster Messier 19 (NGC 1904) in Lepus, shown in a BVR complsite CCD image obtained with the 1-meter Jacobus Kapteyn Telesocpe (JKT) operated by the SARA consortium on the island of La Palma.. This is the only globular cluster that is at all easy to view from the Northern Hemisphere during its winter, and has to provide a fix for globular-cluster aficionados during these months. We see it looking largely outward in our Galaxy - which is why there are so few globulars to be seen in this part of the sky.
