Globular cluster M3


The globular cluster Messier 3 (NGC 5272) in Canes Venatici, shownin a BVR composite image using data from the 1-meter Jacobus Kapteyn Telescope (JKT) operated by the SARA consortium on the island of La Palma. This is one of the brightest northern-hemisphere globulars, visible as a cloud in binoculars about 1/3 of the way between Arcturus and Cor Caroli.
