Open star cluster M103

UA 16-inch image of Messier 103

The bright, splashy star cluster Messier 103 in Cassiopeia, shown in an R-band CCD image obtained with the UA 16-inch telescope. The field of view shown is 18 arcminutes wide. This is another of the many asterisms in which a tiny bit of imagination will show a dipper. Figures, since this is such a rich part of the Milky Way.
