Comet Shoemaker-Levy

Comet Shoemaker-Levy 9 in a V-band image obtained 19 June 1993 with the Lowell Observatory 1.1-meter telescope. Seen about 13 months before Jupiter impact, the faint overall dust fans are still visible as well as material around each nucleus.
